Secrets, Sinners, & All That Jazz Tour

Step back in time and hear the sordid tales of Storyville, the only legal red light district, as well as Treme, one of America’s oldest historically African American neighborhoods — and experience firsthand the places that birthed New Orleans jazz music! Treme grew from a 1700s plantation into an 1800s subdivision into the rich, historic community of artists and musicians it remains today. Founded by Alderman Sidney Story in 1897 to limit brothels, saloons and other vice-centered businesses to a single place, Storyville housed legal prostitution until 1917.

Hear the fascinating history of the real Mardi Gras Indians. Learn how they continue to keep their culture alive in the amazing Treme’ neighborhood.

Take this unique walking tour to experience parts of New Orleans that are home to restaurants pivotal in the Civil Rights Movement, landmarks you don’t want to miss and locations that give you an insider view of the city’s musical and cultural history. On this tour, you get to know New Orleans’ sordid history  presented in an entertaining way by gifted storytellers. Find out how Voodoo made way for Jazz. Hear tales of notorious madams, Voodoo Queens, and the only legal Vice District ever in North America. It’s not your typical history tour!

Haunted History Tours walks you through the freakiest parts of New Orleans history, but in a way that’s fun and interesting.
